Reviews of The Coconut Beach Hotel, Barbados
Hotel good – breakfast poor. Internet access at $ 30 BB per hour, far too expensive.
Hotel directly on the beach with its own shady palm trees, mainly British guests staying here, many of our fellow guests sporting a considerable body mass index!. Friendly atmosphere in the hotel.
The hotel staff generally very friendly, very helpful and flexible. The rooms at The Coconut Beach are very clean, the bathrooms are basic but clean and large enough with a powerful jet of water from the shower.
Public buses in Barbados are excellent costing only $ 1.50 BB regardless of the route, but you must pay for each new change. And so one can go for 1.50 BB $ across the entire island, which is an experience of a very special kind: mostly used by local, very helpful and friendly people, narrow roads, loud Reggae Music and “sporty” driving style. Our one day tour around the island consisted of 5 bus rides together so BB $ 7.50 per person! The Atlantic side (east coast) has great views, not so many tourists and nice restaurants. You can swim, but only in designated bathing areas: strong currents, sea urchins and sharp coral reefs in strong waves are all hazards here.
